boooo

These images represent the hell that is my life. Drawing on the computer until my eyes burn...like now, at 2:34 a.m. pout.

It's actually a pretty decent project - just too many details. It's a brown stone in brooklyn that is being restored from it's destitute state fo become "the first american lung association and green depot certified house" or something. A lady even came from THE NEW YORK TIMES (ya, so big time) to interview us cause the people doing the house are making a deal out of us doing it some how. Anyway, don't be surprised if you read about me in the newspaper or someth'n

.... hopefully it won't be my obituary when they find out that the acheing you get in your eye sockets after too much concentrating is one of the first signs of internal combustion, ya.

Finally got a few pics from Paige's wedding,Bob, my Grandma who happens to be THE coolest person I have ever known
I guess I forgot to switch into my fancy jewelry before the big day.

These are my cute little sibs. Freaks me out that Paige is old enough to get married - and that it was possible to find an awesome enough guy that I would be ok with it. Plus look how old Zach is, nuts.

Thank You for Thanks Giving

11.18.07 : compute like the mad computer nerd I have become for a presentation Monday morning
11.19.07 : class from 12 - 3, then work 4 to 8, back to school for more, walk home from the train - home by 11:30
11.20.07 : work 9-6 at 8.8, run errands, home by 9, pack my bike, sleeping bag, and much more in a duffel bag
11.20.07 : get on a bus to DC and leave my big city whoas behind - way way behind

I met up with the cool kids in DC last week and had some much needed mad fun. I didn't want to leave - ever ever. There were more opportunities to play and laugh than I have had in way too long. It was totally aws.

Boyzz - fearless leaders of bike adventures and coordinating biking bags. Thanks for teaching me a thing or two on the bikes.
You know you needed a vacation when sleeping on the floor with the dog is the most refreshing feeling in the world. Or maybe it just means you miss your dog. Or maybe it just means you need a boyfriend.
I found the elusive Alexis! Who's shared the east coast with me way too long to not have gotten together. Doesn't she look elusive?
Look how much they love each other, all cozy like that.

I'm positive I didn't have the best pictures of the group, but I had one of the best videos. Andrew, thanks for being a rad host and having such a lovely place to escape to, and for always keeping things interesting. I didn't even get a group shot so I could call you all out, but you guys are always sooo much fun. Thanks for letting me in on some good times. I think we should all live within a 1 mile radius in a really cool city that we can play in always.
Loved it. I want some more!

Gotta love this Christmas party invite I got from my friend Jana

I need to find me a country boy

I went to the Avett Brothers concert tonight at Webster Hall with Lindsey, a friend I made at the last live music I saw which was also awesome, but way too long ago to have not seen each other, or live music since. Did you catch that?
I hadn't heard of them before going, but Lindsey mentioned they were blue grass and I thought "I can be into that"

Loved it, loved them. We were both transfixed by the country boys (sorry Josh). They're a little "newsie-ish". The lead singer especially was a lot Ryan Gosling-ish (after he goes crazy) in the the Note Book. Plus they were awesome live. Way way good live. They would be fun to see at a music festival.
North Carolina here I come!

Big 100

I just noticed this is my 100th post. What a nerd.
Unfortunately I haven't come up with a clever 100th post - like "100 reasons that I'm happy today" or "100 reasons i love to blog"
I was really just wanting to post this awesome email I received today:

From: "Kate Danielowski"
To: "Jessica Baucom"
Date: Tue, 13 Nov 2007 14:37:47 -0500
Subject: Lost Purse

Hi Jessica,

Your purse was found by a gentleman named Omar. He called to give his information so you could retrieve your wallet from him. When you get this email, you can get in touch with him at 646-530-6294. He said that he works on West 27th Street, so hopefully the pickup won't be too inconvenient. Let me know if you have any questions or need anything.

Thanks
Kate

Now that's fabulous news. If anyone is interested in calling Omar and thanking him for me go ahead. He's a security guard at an art gallery. I meet him tomorrow on 27th street and 10th avenue - [does anyone know where that is? It's freak'n far west. That's like all the way to the Hudson River]

Now I just need to figure out how to reward Omar. Hmmmm.

bad: I had to pay for it

double good: Chelsea and Adam are in town and they stay with me!
bad: I still have to deal with school & work junk
bad: my roomies make it all but impossible to have our apartment clean for visitors let alone ourselves

good: Chelsea's brother in law let's us borrow his private driver to go where ever we want in the city!
good: brother in law Josh let's Chelsea and Adam stay their remaining nights in the city at his suite in the W hotel at Time's Square!

good: the invite me (of course cause they're so nice) to stay too and it is ridiculously high roller and pretty

bad: we probably went to 50 galleries in 9 hours or so

double bad: I lost my bag, with my wallet in it of course, on our last day of gallery strolling
continued bad: I had to contact all my card companies to cancel things on Chelsea (the friends)'s phone minuets before she had to leave - and I had to ask for money from her because otherwise I wouldn't be able to get home on the subway

good: that night I had an appointment with my Hampton House clients and they are awesome awesome
bad: I wish Chelsea and Adam didn't have to leave

Lucky me

I got lovely fall weather and 3 more visitors, all in one weekend.
The weather is so perfectly crisp right now. I love actually needing warm blankets to sleep with and socks to keep toes warm at night. Walking back and forth from the train and breathing in chilled air. It's very nostalgic for me because last time the weather was like this I had just come to New York and everything, including the weather was so so interesting and exciting. It still is, but now it's much more like home rather than the wild new country it was last year.

Back to the company, here are the players:

Elizabeth Ellison Nelson
26 years old
Washington DC Resident
Current George Town Graduate Student
Took the bus and arrived with an air mattress in tow, so tough
She looks smart in those specs doesn't she?

Lauren Ann Nelson Foulger
25 years old
Newly wed (kind of)
Runner Extraordinare - and I mean extra extra extrordinare
Flew in from SLC on a red eye with a lay over in Denver. What a sport.

Sarah Jane Jones Morgan
25 years old
Loveland, Colorado resident
Skipped out on work and her husband to visit her friend (that's me) s (the others). Thanks yo

Me
25 as well
love the weather, the sites, but mostly the friends.

So sultry
If this has you intrigued and makes you want to visit please do. Good thing I live in such a popular location, I seem to be able to lure just about anyone. I'm thinking that I may need to hire someone to come visit me, but instead of checking out the sites I will force them to force me to clean my apartment, pay my bills, find my exterior hard drive, do laundry, go groceries shopping, do my home work, add more ram to my computer, and do office work for my mini business because these are the things that I forget exist when there are so many more interesting things going on! Who's in? Who wants to be my personal assistant for a week?? I can pay you with my love and affection.

You may have thought I couldn't come up with another excuse to post about puppies, but you were wrong! Last weekend Jean Marie (room mate, kind of) went home to Florida and came back Monday with a puppy!! His name is Zeus and he looks like a fluffy toy. Cute as a button, and I kind of don't know what to do with it because when I try and pet him or play with him I feel like I'm going to break him.
, but we did get some good training time in with him this weekend.

nie mowie po polsku

It was time to leave the dream house - more like time to leave the land lord from H E double you know what. ya, I said it.

You're going to wish you didn't ask what my place is like now because this turned into a massive picture album - Sorry
old place
Best part about moving was that it wasn't too far to go (or so we thought) so we tried to lug as much stuff down there on our own before getting a mover. This is Dusty and Jean Marie each with massive piles of stuff on wheels rolling down the street in the industrial district in Greenpoint (Brooklyn) - it was really classic.
There's no picture of it, but I have a bad as bid as a body bad full of stuff: clothes, shoes, pots and pans) balancing on my bike as I push it down the street. Such a pretty parade.
They tipped over my stuff in the middle of the street!! Come on guys, try and be careful.
New shack:
It's pretty lovely, I think I'm just spoiled for life from living in my warehouse apartments. I like the more industrial buildings better for some reason, but this one's pretty fine.
Best part is the windows, I haven't had windows in my bedroom since I moved here and I LOVE having a breeze so so much.
We have a sofa again! finally! Plus it's fancy - it even converts into a bed!!
Jean Marie's make shift room in the living room.
Jean Marie's "office". You can tell we're a bunch of really clean girls. Actually for all the crap I have gotten my whole life for being messy I'm the least messy one in the house!! I clean all of the time and am for sure the most organized. sad.
Caroline-a's room (she'd kill me if she knew these were on here) oops.
Caroline's creative corner

My fort bedroom - magically my desk fit under the loft bed one of my friends donated.
Yep, hauled that dresser with me on all my moves so far - it's heavy. We only had one moving guy so I was the one on the other side of this lug, the chest of drawers in the kitchen, both mattresses and Caroline's massive desk. I'm such a brute.
