YR May 09

Mothra found by Charlie

Went to the ranch with the whole family before Side, Liz, and the boys move to Seattle next week.  The boys and the outdoors = pure bliss.  Could play outside with them all day, and did.

Driving up there were 6 of us + 2 dogs made for a long drive as you can see on Jackie's face

A few images from mine and Zach's forever long adventure hike.  We had a few goals, not sure if we accomplished any of them.  We did come home soaking wet to the neck after getting swept away in the river - thanks Zach for saving my life.  Weird because I swear it used to always be the other way around.

Jack was straight up obsessed with the tractor - which even furthered his obsession with Grandpa who drives the tractor

Can you tell that I finally got a new camera?  Hence the photo documentation of everything.  You might need to cope with it for a bit - kind of stoked to have this power back

If I weren't too lazy and irresponsible I would want a pot garden just like Lindsay's

South of here

Last weekend we packed up and headed south.
I knew I had made good decision in weekend warrior companions when:

They let me stop in Helper to scope out the antique shops &  go the Helper Railway & Mining Museum (spent two hours there)

We found took way too many "from a speeding car" photos because we were so excited about being in the desert

When the first thing we did once in the swell was this

When we also spent most of the next day here doing this

When we got all bruised up on the first day from running around up here

When I fell asleep to this . . .

. . . and woke up to this (literally)

When my battery died from taking too pictures of the beauty so I missed out on photo documenting step by step the next 48 hours - which was probably good for me

We ended the weekend in Joe's Valley - a welcome change to the heat in the swell.  Turns out it's as much of a hippie/climber mecca as I've always heard - and we ate it right up.  Can't wait to go back.

And lastly, if I were to live out of the back of a car (which I seriously consider more often than you might think) I would hope I could do it with these two - they're the most prepared set of car campers out.

Perfect Weather

I consider this prime get outside and play weather.  It's not too hot, but not too cold.  Perfect chill for working up a sweat.  Plus the dogs eat it up.  They think it's a holiday every time Lindsay shows up at my house because that means we're going on a hike.

Lindsay and Driggs pondering

I love that wispy green showing up at the ends of twigs

All that water coming from the mucky mountains

Bonus lesbo pic (one of oh so many)
