High Line Park

Over the past few years there has been a construction project underway to revamp an old above ground train track that runs from Meat Packing up to Chelsea. I have wanted to go there ever since I heard it was done and today I finally did. Perfect place to spend one of the first sunny above 45 degrees days here in New York.

This is the railroad when it was in use way back when.

In some places it went right through buildings.

This is what the trail looked like when I lived in NYC two years ago.

This is how it looks now.

Well, more like this because there were tons of people out today.

See more pictures and read about the High Line Park here.

Wish you were skiing with me today instead of train watching.... it was epic and I could have used you as my ski buddy

I tried to lure you out with me when I was home! I guess that's what you call bad timing. Heard it was amazing out there, it's a good thing because we need it.

I am pretty dang jealous that you have visited this great landscape project. I have read about it and have heard a lot about it and am anxious to be there! Man I need a trip to NYC!

Jess, you have to see this place. You would love it I'm sure. It's cool to see a place like this appreciated too, so many people there using it and enjoying it. Come east my friend!

I've read a lot about this project... glad to hear it got the JMB seal of approval. It sometimes amazes me that projects like this make it through the public process. Anything remotely cool that we propose IMMEDIATELY gets shut down by the public maintenance folks.
