Guess who else is helpless these days? Yup Manda. Slaving away getting ready for her radical photography show in Salt Lake this weekend, October 16th at Art Access from 6-9 if you must know, she sliced her leg open. Next she spent two days in and out of the hospital getting all fixed up. Finally I have another gimp to feel sorry for.

Last Night

Last nights concert at Urban highlighted an unexpected life lesson. I need more enthusiasm in my life. I mean, I enjoy a good mopey day like everone else. Listening to sob music, shuffeling around in my pajamas, watching lame movies online is great now and then, but something about watching the d dog crew party like it was 1999 on stage last night made me tink "I need something in my life that I can be THAT passionate about"

In contrast my insescent girl crush Jolie Holland who preformed first could not be more dull on stage. You can tell very well that being in a hole-in-the wall bar in Salt Lake is not her idea of a good time. If it is she's a masachist because she acted MISERABLE. Good ridence Jolie - get on out of our town.

All of this to say I will most likely continue to lounge about listening to Hollands gorgeous gloomy tunes, but mark my words a change is going to come. It's time for an adventure.

I know i'm going to regret this - but that's what being on heavy drugs does to you right? i know it doesn't look like much, but this is probably the most bizarre sensation i have ever had. my arm from the elbow down is so numb that someone could saw my arm off without me noticng

The doctor broke it to me last week (i know, i kill me too) that in fact I've broken both hands. Classic.

Actually instead of the right being super mangled like the left it's a stabile fracture which apparently means no cast or splint necessary - just a super cool looking wrist guard that looks just like the ones the cool kids wore when they went roller blading back in the day.

Broken Bike

So I got in a little accident while riding with lauren last week. we were biking back from city creek canyon via research park on our way home when a car took a left across backed up traffic. Basically i didnt even see the car turn in front of me, it was just there and i gave it a good dent in it's back right flank. We think i went over the top of the trunk? not really quite sure. basically as i skidded to a stop in the middle of the street i thought i was the luckiest girl in the world because i jumped up and proclaimed "i'm alright! i'm fine" to all of the shocked people standing at the bus stop who had just witnessed it. then i looked down at my wrist. not fine.

i guess i'm lucky it was just my wrist because this is the wreckage i left behind. poor lauren got to come upon the scene of the crime with her bike in two and her friends gory body in shock. thank you lauren for being the trama care taker.

could you imagine a worse ending to borrowing a friends bike besides breaking it in two?
